You show us mercy
You show us unconditional love
I know it’s hard to understand why giving us everything isn’t enough
We would all want to thank you … but we’re so ungrateful
Some of us try to appreciate you but the rest can’t find the time
Some of us make a real effort to help you but we all know that’s a lie
How could we ever repay you?
The love isn’t mutual and you’re in danger
We plunder you for your resources and exacerbate your life force and worst of all, we claim it’s the most efficient choice
We could feel your cry and collectively still choose to make no change about the obvious crimes
The dirty oceans, the lack of trees, the polluted air is a real tragedy
We sit around wasting time, watch Tv and laughing about memes
You still manage to keep us alive but you know and I know there isn’t much time
We spray down your fruits, we poison your waters, we test your resilience and forget what truly matters
It’s a lack of awareness and you don’t deserve this
I hope to enjoy you- before we destroy you
It’s a slow and painful death, it’s taking place in subtle ways
We rake your leaves ignoring the fact that leaves are a natural fertilizer, Then have the audacity to sit around and ponder.
We wonder why soil is diminishing and won’t exist much longer
We’re just humans. Humans doing and not being
It’s painful to witness but we keep watching and I keep seeing
Mother earth, this has become death-dealing.
You’re suffering in real time and civilization is playing on a field full of landmines.
